Living with Cystic Fibrosis is tough.

Just ask Jacalyn Murphy, a sophomore at St. Vincent de Paul High School and a starter of the school's basketball team.

Every morning Murphy has to go through a lengthy routine to clear out the mucus that accumulates in her lungs. There are inhalers to use and pills to take. Yet Murphy, who is 16, takes in all in stride, not complaining about her disease.

Cystic Fibrosis affects 30,000 Americans, with 1,000 new cases diagnosed each year. To raise awareness and funds for the disease, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation holds events throughout the year to raise funds for the disease and is hosting a walk on Saturday, April 28 at Spring Lake Park in Santa Rosa.
