What's Going On for New Year's Eve in Petaluma?

Wondering what to do for New Year's Eve? Here are a couple of ideas.

Start the new year with a touch of classical music at a New Years’ Eve concert at the Petaluma Historical Museum. Players from the San Francisco Symphony will play selections from Beethoven and Brahms, accompanied by reknown pianists Elizabeth Walter and Marilyn Thompson. Concert starts at 7pm and includes complimentary wine and cheese. $35/$45 after Dec. 21. 20 Fourth St.

Ring in the new year with yoga followed by a community dance jam at Yoga One. Start the evening with a 10pm Vinyasa yoga class. Then sit with your intentions for a midnight chant and later dance the night away with some groovy tunes. $20 members/$35 non-members. Preregistration recommended. 110 Kentucky St.

If you want to rock out, consider the Mystic’s New Year’s Eve Bash with Tommy Castro and the Painkillers. Castro is a seasoned blues and R&B musician whose tunes are bound to get you dancing.

The December 31 show will be a throwback to the earlier days of the band and features original bassist Randy McDonald along with new band mates Byron Cage on drums and James Pace on keyboards. Original sax player Keith Crossan will also make an appearance. Lost Dog Found opens at 9pm. $51.  

Or dance it up at The Rocks’ New Year’s Eve celebration with DJ Stevie B, spinning electronica and dance hits. 10pm. 146 Kentucky St. Bottle service available.

Another option is the Social Club Bar and Restaurant, at 132 Keller St., which hosting a New Year's Eve dinner event from 4 to 10 p.m.

The restaurant will have a special prix fixe menu for $49, as well as regular menu items available. At 10 p.m., the party starts with tune spinning by Sonoma County deejay Will Styles. 

Looking for a fun event without the booze? Consider Funny Vibes, a sober comedy and reggae show at the Sunflower Center that’s absolutely free. Features Bay Area comics and reggae artists King Hopeton and Sky-I with DJ Cleanface. Toast at midnight; vegetarian café open all night. Starts at 8pm. 1435 N McDowell Blvd. Suite 100.
