DeMars Records 2nd Consecutive Shut Out in St. Vincent Soccer Win

Joe DeMars recorded his second consecutive shut out in goal for the Mustang men’s soccer team in a non-league 1-0 win over International. Scoring the lone goal in the game was Jackson Walker assisted by David Sammon. This is the fifth consecutive win for the Mustangs as they make a push for possible consideration in the NCS playoffs. Their current record of 10-7-1 with impressive wins over Gateway and International has put them “on the bubble”. Games remaining for the Mustangs are Sonoma Academy and Tomales.
The women’s team continued their winning ways by beating Upper Lake 10-0. Scoring goals for the Lady Mustangs were Dale Leonheart (2), Stephanie Mitchell, Rebecca Grant, Jules Hunter, Taylor Gallagher, Alexa Evans, Kenzie Fairow, Maddie Perry, and Grace Jennings. Credited with assists were Leonheart, Grant, Taylor Owens, Emma Roberti, Delaney Frye, and Rebecca Dodele. The team is currently 10-2 in league play remaining in 2nd place and 13-3 overall. Tomorrow the Mustangs take on Calistoga which will be the last home games for the seniors. Celebrating their final home game will be Rebecca Dodele, Kenzie Fairow, Rebecca Grant, Grace Jennings, Jacalyn Murphy, and Maddie Perry. This has been a stellar soccer group over the past four years and have performed well on the pitch. We wish them well and hope they enjoy their last home effort.
