National Award for St. Vincent High School Literary Magazine
The 2013 edition of AMUSED, a collection of original prose, poetry and student art has been selected to receive the rank of Superior – Nominated for Highest Award in the 2013 National Council of Teachers of English Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines.
Under the direction of English Department ChairpersonJanet Donovan, editors John Pitre ’13 (now a freshman at UC Davis) and Jessica Salmassian ’13 (now a freshman at Carroll College) worked with technical assistant Anna Griffin ’14 to produce the 74 page publication of 45 original student prose and poetry and 42 drawings, paintings and photographs.
Publication of the AMUSED celebrates the completion of each school year with student reading their works from the anthology at Copperfield’s Books in Petaluma each June.

NCTE’s Program recognizes students, teachers and schools for producing excellent literary magazines. The program’s mission is to encourage all school to develop literary magazines seeking excellence in writing and school-wide participation in production.
