Senior SV Soccer Players Pass The Torch

The Lady Mustang soccer team beat Calistoga yesterday 7-0 in what was a great send-off for the senior players. Rebecca Grant, Rebecca Dodele, Maddie Perry, Kenzie Fairow, Grace Jennings, and Jacalyn Murphy all had contrbutions for their team yesterday. Showing their hustle, determination on defense, ability to score, and rejecting goals, these senior players capped off a terrific career at St. Vincent High School. Taking their lead, the rest of the team followed wtih their contributions as well. Dodele started the scoring for the Mustangs with a goal into the upper left corner of the net. A few minutes later, Jr. Stephanie Mitchell executed a well placed corner kick with Jr. Dale Leonheart getting the goal. Soph. Taylor Owen followed up with 3 goals in the game and Maddie Perry came through with one. Credited with assists were Leonheart (2), Dodele, Jr. Lauren Kulasingam, and Frosh. McKenna Wilson-Kay. As per usual, the master of rejection, Jacalyn Murphy finished the game with another shut out in goal. The team has one remaining game in league at Roseland Prep tomorrow with their current record at 11-2 and overall 14-3. May the seniors legacy of outstanding small school women's soccer carry over to a very promising future of women's soccer at St. Vincent High School.
