St. Vincent Basketball has a Successful Weekend

The Varsity Basketball teams were successful on Friday and Saturday in their quest to finish the season strong in preparation for the NCS playoffs. The Varsity men's team has improved lately in stringing together some victories with the most recent being a decisive win over Tech HS 54-25. Junior Grant DeVoe led the team with 21 points and  Senior Zach Pierson added 10. The next two games vs. Tomales and Rincon Valley Christian will be critical in keeping the momentum going. The team is currently at 6-4 in the NCL II league and 8-13 overall. The Varsity women cruised to a victory over Tech HS 48-8 with Senior Rebecca Dodele scoring 8 points and Frosh McKenna Wilson-Kay also scoring 8. The Lady Mustangs then traveled to Lafayette to play in the Bentley shootout vs. Head Royce of Oakland on Saturday recording a victory 53-31. Trailing at halftime 21-18, the Mustangs kicked it into gear, and outscored Head Royce 35-10 in pulling away with the win. Dodele once again led the team in scoring with 20 points and Senior Jacalyn Murphy had 10. Still enjoying their undefeated league record at 10-0, the Lady Mustangs should hold onto their first place lead throughout the next four games. Their current overall record is an impressive 16-5.

The Frosh boys basketball team recorded another victory over Cardinal Newman 50-48.
