St. Vincent Men's Basketball Squeaks by for a Win vs. Sonoma Academy

The Mustang Men’s basketball team traveled to Sonoma Academy on Tuesday and pulled out a win vs. the Coyotes in overtime 44-40. St. Vincent trailed  at halftime 18-13, but won the 2nd half 23-18 to send the game into overtime at 36-36. Leading scorers for the team were Seniors Max Cowell with 16 points and Zach Pierson with 11. The Varsity men are currently in fourth place in the NCL II at 5-4  and 7-13 overall. The Varsity women had another successful outcome vs. Sonoma Academy winning 48-22. After a tough game vs. Roseland Prep the night before, the Mustangs controlled this game from tip off. Senior Ellie O’Neill, who had an “off” night vs. Roseland, came through vs. the Coyotes for 21 points. The team remains in first place in league with an undefeated record of 9-0 and 14-5 overall. The Varsity teams will return to action on Friday at St. Vincent vs. Tech High School with game times at 5:30 and 7:00.

The JV teams also won Tuesday night with the JV girls recording a 43-22 victory and the JV boys 42-36 with a reduced squad due to illness.
