TIGER MOM OF WEST POINT CADET OVERWHELMED BY SUPPORT FOR ‘CHRISTMAS BIBLE READINGS’ BOOK

Plano, TX, USA — On October 19, 2013 at 7:44am, the bank accounts will be debited of a high-tech business executive in Australia, a college student from the Berklee School of Music, a West Point cadet, a graphic artist in Alaska, college professors in Washington DC and Oregon, a sommelier in the California wine country, the pastor of a small church somewhere in the Southwest, a Catholic mother of 5, and dozens of others.

That is the funding date for their pledges backing former Petaluma  resident and home-schooling mom Norma Jesus ‘Christmas Bible Readings’ book project on the crowd-funding site Kickstarter.com:http://bit.ly/xmasread

“I am completely overwhelmed by the encouragement and financial support of so many people for my Christmas Bible Readings project”, she says.

Ms. Jesus idea for the book came at the end of her 15 years as a home-schooling mom. “When they had all left for schools in other states, I wrote down all the passages we’d used for daily Christmas Bible readings through the years, wanting to make it easy for my children to continue the tradition”, she says. “When friends asked for a copy of my collection, I realized I was not the only one who had never found a Christmas book that was daily readings of only Scripture, organized as an overview of the Bible.”

The author describes herself as more of a curator than a writer: “Christmas Readings is a collection of Bible readings from the Old and New Testament for families and individuals for each day of the Christmas season.” She applied her experience as a journalist and educator in creating the book. “The passages in Christmas Readings are organized so that even those unfamiliar with the Bible can understand them. It is my hope that using my book will help readers to stay focused on Jesus and the Word of God during the hectic season that is, after all, supposed to be about Him.”
