Upper River/Slough paddeling

Starting today through Sunday the 2 mile paddle from the River House at the turn basin heading North, will be accessible due to extra high tides at 4pm today, 5 tomorrow and 6 on Sunday; because the tide is fast moving, it is strongly suggested that you leave the area by the outlet mall no later than 1/2 hour past high tide or you might have to walk back.

You will pass under two foot bridges; and three street bridges; E. Washington street; Lakeville and Payran street bridges; (look under the last two bridges and on both sides of the river just before Lakeville and you can see where the Swallows from 101 moved to) past the flood barriers; now you are in an area filled with wild life and over grown vegetation; under the train trestle; around a few more bends in the river and at the end you will find a large drainage pipe and a peaceful turn-a-round spot (at this point you are at the southern part of the outlet mall parking lot), bring a camera and your love of the Petaluma river.
