Barn Dance, Mandolin Concert, Veterans Day and More This Weekend

Friday, stock up on cheap children’s books at the Petaluma Regional Library’s quarterly book sale. 10am-4pm. Half price 4pm-5pm.

On Saturday, sample some chili and have fun at an old fashioned barn dance at Green String Farms starting 5pm. Join as judge and taster for $10.00 or enroll as a contestant for a chance to win up to $100.00 cash prize!!

Or come meet Giants in-game reporter Amy G. as she signs autographs at Lucchesi Deli on Saturday from 12pm to 1:30pm. Lucchesi will also officially announce its new sandwich, Amer the Gamer, named after Amy G.

On Sunday, honor veterans past and present at the North Bay Veterans’ Day parade starting 1pm at Walnut Park. The parade will feature more than 200 participants, including the 235th Engineer Company of the National Guard and San Rafael Military Museum.

Come check out military aircraft including a B-25, P-51, a YAK-11 and three Nanchings. Following the parade, there will be a ceremony at Walnut Park including Major General Gary Medvigy.

Also on Sunday, the San Francisco Mandolin Orchestra presents its fall season repertoire at First Church of Christ Scientist at 4pm. Featured works include Stravinsky’s Firebird, Handel’s Music for Royal Fireworks, DeFalla’s hot-blooded Ritual Fire Dance and Bartok’s rousing Roumanian Dances. $15

And hate to break it to the author, but Cause of Action is a right-wing funded legal (tax exempt of course) group that takes on conservative causes, such as this effort to overturn the Obama Administration's correct decision to enforce the deal the Lunny's made.

Parks and Recreation has a huge variety of summer camps. Kids Klub (1st-5th grade) and Camp K2Read More (6th-8th grade) are both traditional summer day camps with 1/2 day, daily and weekly options.
