The City of Petaluma and Petaluma Kiwanis are proud to once again host the July 4th Fireworks Celebration. With the financial help and support of numerous local businesses and community contributions, it will be the best light show yet!
This holiday celebration will be taking over the Sonoma Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma, Monday, July 4th, with gates opening at 4 p.m. to the general public. Admission is $2.00 per person and children under age 6 are free. Blankets and low chairs are permitted and warm clothing is suggested for our cool nights. BBQ grills, alcohol, pets, contraband or fireworks of any kind are not permitted. Parking is free.
Thanks to Erica Burns Gorman of the Petaluma Farmers Market, the food booths will be offering hot dogs, BBQ, tacos, pizza and more. Other vendors with tasty treats and refreshments include M& M Vending with Kettle Corn, Bus Stop Coffee, Cutie Cakes Bake Shop, Molly Moo’s Ice Cream Truck, and The Churro Guy, Come with an appetite for the all American hot dog, popcorn, ice cream and more. Vendors will include glitter tattoos and sandy candy by Dyani Bachelder of Balloonatrix, handmade sock animals and jewelry by Sara Red, novelty light ups by Hangman’s Follow Dark Amusements, balloon art and face painting by Paula Moors, and tarot readings by Kristine Gorman, just to name a few. Friends of the Petaluma River, one of Petaluma’s local non profits whose mission is to offer access, education, appreciation, and conservation of the Petaluma River and its natural resources, will have an information booth. Literacyworks, an educational nonprofit organization headquartered in Petaluma, will host a booth informing families and children of their upcoming community learning fair “Word Up!”.
The opening ceremony will begin promptly at 4:15 with the Star Spangled Banner, sung by none other than our very own Elly Lichenstein of Cinnabar Theater. With a claim of Petaluma’s Official Spokesperson, Petaluma Pete will entertain us and serve as MC for the evening. Music kicks right in at 4:30 with Clean Slate B.R.O.S., bringing us a mix of blues, rock, oldies and soul. Then get ready to be ROCKED by Rock Skool for a solid 3 hours, starting at 6:00 p.m. The Fireworks begin at dusk or around 9:15 p.m. As twilight approaches, the air will fill with the building excitement of the Fireworks show, brought to us by Zambelli Fireworks Internationale.
