Memorial Day Worship Service

Joyce Tischler, Worship Leader
Throughout recorded history, human beings have engaged in war. Indeed, some historians treat wars as the defining events in the retelling of history. Our country is currently embroiled in two wars. How can UUs observe this holiday, when our feelings about war and our compassion for those who are harmed and killed are profoundly conflicted and complex? If humans are hardwired for violence and war, can our spiritual practices help us to re-wire?

This is a participation service. Please bring stories, quotes, poems and most of all, your own wisdom to share.
