Friends of Petaluma River Host 20th Annual Spring River Cleanup

Locals invited to lend a hand, then enjoy a BBQ, music and raffle, on May 3.

Friends of the Petaluma River are hosting the 20th Annual Spring River Cleanup May 3 at the Petaluma Marina.

The efforts began in 1994 when a concerned group of citizens came together to combat garbage littering the waterways, organizers say.

To date, more than 20 TONS of trash and debris from the Watershed.

In 2013, Friends of the Petaluma River took up organizing the Spring River Cleanup, and invite residents to join them May 3 with the cleanup effort and a BBQ, live music, giveaways and a Watershed Fair to showcase local activities on the River.

CamelBak of Petaluma donated some amazing products, including brand new backpacks, for the raffle, organizers said.
