How Many Trick-or-Treaters Did You Get at Your Door?

Did the rain keep them away or where there just as many as ever?

A theory going into Halloween: The door-to-door tradition of trick-or-treating is fading away because of concerns about pedestrian safety, nutrition, child obesity and the general spookiness of knocking on a stranger's door at night.

Totally wrong?

Take a look at what some of our readers said on Rohnert Park-Cotati Patch's Facebook page.

We had 10, down from the usual 30 or 40 -- Lorna Blanc

We had about 30 kids over here in the L section. I was surprised and happy to see so many kids and parents out in the nasty rain. -- Sharon Reifsteck Akers

I'm in H section and we only had 3 groups of kids come. so sad. The rain for sure probably made less people come out. But even last year we maybe had 10 groups. I feel like the tradition is slowly dying out which makes me sad cause when I was a kid that was the best thing ever on Halloween!! -- Amanda Lynn Cothern

We were suprised so many kids where out in the rain last night. In L section toward the end of Lancaster we had 8-10 little groups of kids stop by. Rain aint nothing on kids who want candy lol -- Jeanna Lyons-Gonzales

How many kids knocked on your door last night looking for a sugary handout? Was it more or less than last year? Add a comment and vote in our totally unscientific poll.

Also: If you would like to get Halloween candy out of your house, consider dropping it off at your local dentists' office if there is some sort of exchange going on.

I am utterly exhausted by our coverage of Halloween. And bores.

We had floods of trick or treaters in the B section. We just bought here and thought the rain would really hamper the turn out so we were happy to see so many enthusiastic happy kids (and parents) happily making do with umbrellas.

Not quite as many as last year but still several hundred kids here in M section.
