Memorial Fund Set to Aid Widow of Clifford Kendall of Petaluma
Supporters are asking for community help as she has struggled to save her home and re-group since the tragic 2008 suicide of her husband.

A plea for help: Many of you may remember the late Clifford Kendall. He worked for the City of Petaluma as Deputy Chief Building Official for many years. His hard work and dedication can be seen around the city and felt by many of his friends today.
His wife found Cliff the day he committed suicide. Very traumatic experience for her and the rest of the family, as well as other members of the community.

His wife has suffered through and is still currently being treated for post-traumatic stress syndrome.
Due to her extenuating circumstances, she found herself behind on her mortgage payments. Her situation is now stabilizing, and the family is making a diligent effort to help her qualify for a modification.

In the meantime, the bank still wants her to get current on her payments or they will take her home. The courts have given a 60-day extension which we are already into by 10 days.
This home was purchased and re-built by Clifford Kendall and is all the family has left. To lose the home would be losing what is left of Clifford Kendall's legacy.
The family is reaching out to anyone in the community who is willing to help with suggestions or monetary donations.
Anyone with extensive knowledge of saving homes would be an asset during this difficult time.
The monetary goal is $67,000.
A memorial fund is set up in Clifford Kendall's name at the Redwood Credit Union.
If we can reach this goal, the home will be saved in conjunction with a modification to lower payments to an affordable rate.
The original lender was Countrywide Financial, and then another bank illegally purchased the loan from them. Now the current lender has a reputation for being predatory according to some attorneys of which the family can not afford to pay anymore.
