Wednesday, Aug. 14

Sonoma County law enforcement officials announced a DUI crackdown this month.

The “Avoid the 13” DUI crackdown joins the national annual “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” program.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Department along with the CHP and local police agencies will launch “Avoid the 13” patrols starting on Friday. The effort runs through Labor Day.


Thursday, Aug. 15

Alcoholic beverage retail giant BevMo will open the doors to a new store in town later this month. The Aug. 23 grand opening will feature giveaways along with tastings.


Friday, Aug. 16

A decomposed body was found early this morning on the McNear Peninsula in Petaluma, authorities said. The body was found on a 10-acre parcel of undeveloped private property between Petaluma River and Schooner Landing Park at about 2:30 a.m.
