Tickets for all three midnight shows at Petaluma's had sold out earlier this week, and the theater has just added more shows to meet the demand.

"We could have as many as seven theaters showing the film," said a manager Friday, who did not want to give her name because she is not authorized to talk to the press.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, Part 2 depicts Harry's final confrontation with the forces of evil Lord Voldemort — an epic showdown rendered, for the first time in the series, in 3D.

Meanwhile, J.K. Rowling announced the creation of pottermore.com, which she described as "a unique online reading experience for Harry Potter fans." She said more details would be revealed at the end of July.
