Want to see what's happening around town? Here are a couple of highlights

Single and tired of online dating? Come by the Rocks Bar & Lounge for a singles mixer on Friday starting 8pm. Entrance is free with purchase of a drink. According to organizer Wikki Verma, the event is also a great opportunity to make new friends and make new business contacts.

It must be nearly summer if it’s time for the annual Chili Cookoff at the Fairgrounds. On Saturday, starting 1pm, enjoy the heat as you sample gourmet, homemade, and veggie chili recipes and stay for outdoor music, dancing and world class beers. Benefits Petaluma's Cinnabar Youth Theater. $25

Also on Saturday, step back in time with Living History Day at the Petaluma Adobe State Park. Volunteers will reenact scenes from the rancho days, and guests can learn basket weaving, candle making techniques and dances from the rancho. Picnics welcome. 10am-4pm. $2 admission. 3325 Adobe Road, Petaluma.

On Sunday, treat mom to spectacular scenery on a ranger-led in Tolay Lake Park. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Bay Area while learning about this property’s rich biodiversity and cultural history. 12-2pm. Call 707-789-9644 to sign up.

Also this weekend, it’s Petaluma the Musical, the Steampunk version of last year’s sold-out event. Written and performed by local talent, the musical tells the story of the adventurous Petaluma Sky Pilots and their friends reflects the strength of community and how everyone wins when they work together. 7pm at the Petaluma Woman’s Club. $15 online/$20 at the door
