Intro to Printmaking

This class will introduce students to the exciting art of printmaking! We will begin by designing, cutting, and creating our own foam stamps. Eventually we will work up to carving blocks of linoleum using professional grade U-gauges and carving tools. Your final pieces will be colorful, graphic, textural, and bold. Printmaking is perfect for gifts, creating patterns and textiles, wall hangings, and fine art prints. No experience necessary.

Ages: 7-12

Instructor Jamie Drobnick graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with a degree in fine art printmaking. She has been teaching art classes to elementary aged children since she was a student at Petaluma High School. Currently, she teaches art courses for kids with the Petaluma Art Docent program and at Kala print studio in Berkeley.
