Petaluma the Musical v.2 Steampunk

Petaluma, CA – Colette McMullen of Satori Studioz announces the Petaluma The Musical v.2 Steampunk held at The Petaluma Woman’s Club, 518 “B” Street at Sixth this May 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 - Fridays and Saturdays at 7 PM, Sundays at 3 PM.

Petaluma The Musical v.2 Steampunk brings to life a fantasy-filled view from the Victorian era of invention with steam-powered velocipedes and dirigibles, sporting gadgets, gears & goggles. The riveting story of the adventurous Petaluma Sky Pilots and their friends reflects the strength of community and how everyone wins when we work together to overcome the challenges we meet in life…a true Petaluma story.

The Producer of Petaluma the Musical (PTM), Colette McMullen, has been enthralled of anything theater since she was eight years old.  McMullen explains, “I would enroll my siblings to participate in my home theater productions.  The creative desire to entertain family and friends is my fondest childhood memory.   At age 16 using my high school’s Super 8 camera, I produced my first inspirational film to influence people to see the downside of cigarettes and to stop smoking. “

Since moving to Petaluma six years ago, McMullen discovered a vibrant community of warm and friendly people.  “Petaluma The Musical” seemed the clear performance choice to create with a town so rich with history and support for the arts and music. So in 2011, she began creating PTM and realized the truly magical and seemingly effortless way this idea drew the perfect cast and crew to co-create this event.  It validated its very existence and exemplified how we roll here in P-town.

She goes on to say, “With a career background in magazine publishing along with conference and event production, it became clear now is the time to do what I truly love: theater-art-film.  Satori Studioz is my new production company. “Satori” is Japanese-Zen meaning flash of enlightenment.”
