In the morning, you will learn techniques to help render flowers and leaves. In the afternoon, we will explore the use of these techniques out in nature and learn about page layout and experiment with writing. You will take away a compact nature journaling kit consisting of a bound journal, an aquabrush, a few special pencils and a palette with six unique watercolor pigments that combine to create a rich range of colors.
Please bring: a bag lunch; a hat; a small, lightweight stool; a water bottle; and a sack to carry supplies – this class will take place partially outdoors.

The instructor, Kristin Meuser, is an artist, teacher and graphic/web designer. Her love of the land and nature has inspired her watercolors and pastels for over 25 years. She has developed a teaching style using techniques adapted from several workshops with educator/artist John Muir Laws. These techniques de-mystify the drawing of plants and animals in such a way that beginners quickly gain a sense of confidence in their ability to record the natural world.
