1. RANGER LED SUNSET HIKE AT TOLAY LAKE
Where/When: Tolay Lake Regional Park is at the end of Cannon Lane, off Lakeville Hwy, Petaluma, Friday, 5:30-7 p.m.
Why Go:. What could be a better way to start the weekend? Take a hike and enjoy the setting sun in this lovely park. Don’t you feel better already?

2. 2011 MAD HATTER BALL
Where/When: Boys and Girls Clubhouse, Lucchesi Park, 203 Maria Dr., Petaluma, Saturday, 6-11:30 p.m.
Why Go: Because you’ve been saving a great hat for this night.  Go on, wear it with panache.  Dance, drink and be merry knowing this benefit for Mentor Me Petaluma is a great cause.
Pricing: $65 in advance, $75 at the door but don’t count on it, tickets are going fast! Tickets are available here.

3. SEARCHING FOR AMELIA EARHART
Where/When: Petaluma Museum, 20 4th St, Petaluma, Saturday, 4pm

Why Go: Because the disappearance of Amelia Earhart is one of the great mysteries of the 20th century.   Dr. Tom King, senior archeologist for the International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery will discuss some of the intriguing theories surrounding her disappearance. Sound fascinating? You bet.

4. THE ROYAL DEUCES
Where/When: Lagunitas Brewing Company Taproom,1280 N. McDowell Blvd., Petaluma, Saturday, 3 p.m.
Why Go: Ready for some afternoon rockabilly?  Grab a pint and hang out for a while. You'll be sure to run into friends at this popular Petaluma hangout spot.
Pricing: Depends on how pints you consume.

5. I’LL GET RIGHT BACK TO YOU & OTHER ANNOYANCES
Where/When: Copperfield’s Books, 140 Kentucky St., Petaluma, Sunday, 2 p.m.
Why Go: Because Charles Rubin is a funny guy.  He has (at least) 48 instances of annoying situations.  Ever wondered what happens to your food once you’ve complained and sent it back? Don’t think about it too long.
