Kite Day, Urban Farm, Free Boats and More This Weekend

Check out some of the awesome events happening around Petaluma Friday through Sunday

On Saturday, get back to the land by volunteering at the Petaluma Bounty Community Farm. The urban farm on Shasta Avenue needs volunteers to sow seeds, weed the orchard, along with the strawberries and garlic and to make compost. There’s a job for everyone. 55 Shasta Ave.

Saturday evening, travel back to the ‘90s at a Bone Thugs-n-Harmony concert at The Phoenix. 8pm. Tickets $35-100.

If you need a little intellectual stimulation, check out novelist Manil Suri at Copperfield’s on Saturday starting 7pm. Suri will discuss his novel, “The City of Devi,” a wickedly comedic and fearlessly provocative portrayal of individuals balancing on the sharp edge of fate. Free. 140 Kentucky St.

On Sunday, disconnect from your iPad and iPhone and go enjoy the outdoors. Borrow a boat, kayak, canoe or row boat at the Petaluma River Heritage Center at Steamer Landing Park and explore the river. Free. 10am-2pm.

Then go fly a kite at Petaluma Kite Day 1pm – 4pm at Steamer Landing. Part of Petaluma Unplugged 2013, which starts Friday and continues through Sunday. For a full list of events, visit aqusnews.com

Not to mention we have been in a global cooling period for the last 12 years. Yet you continue with your environmental religion mantra. Unless you own the property you have no say in how it is used. Just like they question the science of climate change, the right-wingers funding the Drakes BayRead More Oyster Farm's effort to break their deal with the National Park Service now are questioning the peer-reviewed science that led to the decision to end the marine slime and plastic pollution from the corporation's operation. And hate to break it to the author, but Cause of Action is a right-wing funded legal (tax exempt of course) group that takes on conservative causes, such as this effort to overturn the Obama Administration's correct decision to enforce the deal the Lunny's made.
