Petaluma Weekend Planner August 26-28

From a free Disney movie and a summer block party at Lucchesi to the Bodega Seafood, Art and Wine Festival, plenty happening this weekend

Friday:

This the last night of the Petaluma Park & Recreation Movies in the Park series. Tonight's film is the Disney/Pixar wonderful animation, WALL-E. In addition to the free movie, all children's activities are now free and includes face painting, bounce house, games and prizes. 

If you go: The free event begins at 6:30 pm with the movie beginning at dusk in  320N. McDowell Boulevard. Don't forget your blankets and chairs.

Saturday:

Help Old Adobe Developmental Services celebrate their 40th anniversary at Ode to Summer, a block party benefit BBQ featuring food, a beer garden, silent auction, raffle, kids' activities and live music by Hall 1, Clean Slate and special guests.

If you go: Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for seniors and people with disabilities, and $7 for children ages 4-12. The event is from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m. at the Old Adobe Developmental Services, 1301 Rand street in Petaluma.

Saturday and Sunday:

One of the most popular festivals in the Bay Area, the event celebrates its 17th anniversary this year. More than 25 wineries and 15 micro breweries will pour wine and beer, while 15 restaurants and catering companies will offer a bounty of seafood classics, including barbecued oysters, crab cakes, Key Lime calamari, clam chowder and other delicacies. Vegetarian options will also be available. 

The work of 100 artists and craftsmen will be featured at the juried art show and sale, which attracts exhibitors from throughout the United States. In addition to seafood, wine, beer and art, the festival also has three stages with a variety of musical entertainment.

There are also activities and games for kids. Proceeds from the event support Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods and the Bodega Volunteer Fire Department.

If you go: Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Seniors pay $10 in advance and $13 at the door while kids 12 and under are free. The festival on Saturday goes from 10- 6 and Sunday 10-5 at Watts’ Ranch, 16855 Bodega Hwy in Bodega.

Saturday:

Embark on a culinary journey of Petaluma’s finest restaurants, wineries, breweries and food purveyors, galleries and shops. Do you love to combine fine restaurants and great wine, with art and entertainment? Are you a closet culinary and art critic who enjoys advising friends & family? Then don’t miss the 6th annual “Taste of Petaluma” where you’ll sample everything that Petaluma’s upscale culinary scene has to offer in one afternoon. This event benefits , now in its 39th year!

If you go: Tickets are $35 if bought by 3 p.m. Friday and can be bought by clicking here, otherwise the tickets are $40 at the event. The event goes on 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Helen Putnam Plaza in downtown Petaluma.

Sunday:

continues its homegrown car show tradition. This casual car show features live music, classic food, and free raffle prizes from local businesses including Cygnus Studios, , Royal Coach Carwash in Cotati and more. At each event a lucky car owner is chosen to win the Sundae Cup Trophy, a huge ice cream sundae with lots of spoons.

If you go: Meet at “high noon” at Fourth & Sea Restaurant, 101 4th Street, in Petaluma.
