Veteran's Day, Art Reception and Gardening Classes This Weekend!

Take a look at some of the things going on around town this weekend. If you know of other events that are open to the public, please add them to the calendar.

The days are getting shorter, the weather colder.

Warm up Thursday night with aat POST Wellness by Design, at 224 Weller St. The class is aimed at advanced beginners or those who have some experience with tango. Starts at 7:15pm and costs $15.

On Friday, support our veterans with Petaluma’s that will wind through downtown starting 1pm. Thank veterans for their service to our country, check out the tanks and planes and then walk over to Penry Park at 4pm as the activists “occupying” the park lay a wreath in honor of Richard Penry, a Vietnam War vet who died in 1994.

If you're a veteran yourself, stop by Petaluma Community Acupuncture, which will be . (Advance appointments required).

Learn the basics of pruning trees, with emphasis on fruit trees, and winter care, including disease control at an all-day workshop Saturday. The class is taught by experienced gardener Ellen Solomon and starts with an instruction portion at Elim Lutheran Church, followed by a hands-on session at Petaluma Bounty. 10-4pm. $20 or whatever you can afford.

If you love art, stop by the Riverfront Art Gallery Saturday starting 5pm to mark their four-year anniversary. Check out the latest show--a collection of photographs from Patagonia--and nibble on hors d’oeuvres as you listen to music.
