What's Up This Weekend?

Searching for something to do? Catch some tunes at Lagunitas, indulge at the cheese fest and get a dose of Arthur Miller at a new production at Cinnabar

 

Start the weekend on a musical note with a performance by Prisma Trova at Lagunitas on Friday. The North Bay duo performs original and cover songs in English, French, and Spanish.  

The group’s sound ranges from Latin American folk songs to cumbias and jazz that “crosses borders and moves the soul.” Starting 4:30pm at Lagunitas Tap Room.

If you’re in the mood for theater, check out Arthur Miller’s “The Price” at Cinnabar, starting this Friday. The play is a story of two estranged brothers meet to divvy up the estate of their late father.

The brothers, a successful doctor and a hardworking policeman, are joined by a witty, elderly antique dealer and a long-suffering wife in this powerful theatrical examination of sibling rivalry and regret.
 
8pm. Tickets $15-$25. Runs through April 7.

Also this weekend, it’s the Artisan Cheese Festival at the Sheraton Petaluma. Now in its seventh year, the event brings together artisan cheese makers, brewers, wineries and guests for three days of cheese tasting and appreciation.

Take a class on cheese making, sample artisan cheeses and local wines, watch a cooking demo and check out the latest books on the art of cheese at Sunday’s artisan cheese tasting and marketplace. Prices vary.

Want to experience Petaluma of the olden days? Head to the Buckhorn on Saturday evening for the bar's karaoke night. The Buckhorn, located at 615 Petaluma Blvd. South, is one of Petaluma's oldest taverns and is sure to be a memorable experience, whether you're a good singer or not.
