Friday:

Every Friday, the Parks and Rec department offers a free family movie at Lucchesi Park. Tonight's movie is Yogi Bear. There will also be a live band, children's activities, BBQ, movie snacks and raffle prizes. Bring your blankets, low chairs and join in.

If you go: The fun is from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.at Lucchesi Park, 320 N. McDowell Boulevard in Petaluma.

Friday: Museum-on-the Go at the Petaluma Library

The Children's Museum of Sonoma County's new program, "What's the Matter," explores the properties of matter with demonstrations and hands-on activities that ignite curiosity and build understanding of what matter is and how it makes up our world.

Saturday:   

Oh, the wonders of rearing chickens in suburban settings! The folks from s will bring you to two rockin’ chicken coop sites in Petaluma and Penngrove and spend the afternoon sharing information, resources, and a potluck lunch.

Learn from seasoned homesteaders, talk through your questions and concerns, and come away feeling ready, prepped, and "egg-cited" to join the backyard feather revolution. And speaking of stacking functions, you'll visit Tina & Troy’s coop, which once boasted a ‘green roof’ from which they harvested 100lbs of potatoes. Talk about eco-groovy chicks

Saturday:

Topic: “Yesterday’s World of Tomorrow, or Hand Me Down That Jetpack, I’m Having Lunch on Mars!”

Predictions about a 21st century filled with flying cars and individual jet packs have not come to pass. Why, if all of it is technologically possible? On the other hand, mankind hasn’t destroyed itself with atomic weapons or strange diseases unknown to science — although it’s has occasionally come pretty close.

Peter Beagle, Michael Kurland and Richard Lupoff, renowned science fiction writers and brilliant prognosticators will discuss what happened — what went wrong, or on some cases right — and why it’s so hard to predict the future.

If you go: Admission to the museum is $10 General/$8 Members & Seniors, with children 12 and under free and includes admission to the exhibit.  The panel starts at 3 p.m. at the , 20 4th St, in Petaluma.

Sunday:

Come support the San Antonio Volunteer Fire Department celebrating 45 years of dedicated service to the community.  In addition to a tasty barbeque, there will be a silent auction, raffle prizes and musical entertainment. Kids can climb inside the fire engine, play games or go through the fire safety trailer.  Beer, wine and barbequed chicken will be available!
