Friday:

Join award-winning author Cat Valente for tea at Copperfield's this Friday. Twelve-year-old September lives in Omaha, and is used to having a rather  ordinary life. One day, September is met at her kitchen window by a Green Wind (taking the form of a gentleman in a green jacket), who invites her on an adventure.

The is hosting a 100k and 100 mile ride through lovely Sonoma County. Beginning and ending at Walnut Park in Petaluma, the race will support community programs in Petaluma, Penngrove, and Cotati. For complete details and registration visit the website. Postride activities include a barbeque lunch, music from local bands and more surprises!

If you go: The registration table will be open at 6 am, the course will open at 6:30am. Walnut Creek is at Petaluma Blvd S & D St in Petaluma.

Sunday:  

The MetaQuizzical Cafe--a musical science and philosophy salon--is musical "edutainment" for those hungry for knowledge. Each event centers on the scientific or philosophical concept behind one of singer-songwriter Jim Ocean's original songs, and is a spicy blend of live music, speaker interview and audience Q&A.

This week’s event is a tribute to sidewalk astronomer John Lowry Dobson. The talk will include a biographical sketch of John Lowry Dobson, the story of the founding of the Sidewalk Astronomy Organization as well as an exploration of the impact that contemplating the cosmos has on the lives of ordinary people.

If you go: The Metaquizzical Cafe salon is from 1-2:30pm at the .  The cost is $10 general, $8 for members and children under 12 are free and includes admission to the BEYOND exhibit.
