POLL: Which Film Will Take Home the Most Oscars?

Several films this year are nominated for 5 or more Oscars, and any one of them could get the most awards Sunday night. Take our poll: Who do you think will be the big winner?

Marin residents have particular interest in several filmmakers nominated in this year's Academy Awards, as noted in this Patch article.

But nearly everyone around the country who tunes in on Sunday night will pay particular attention to another question: Which film will take home the most Oscars this year?

Several films in the running for this year’s Oscars have multiple nominations, but chances are none will beat the top Oscar winners of the past: “Ben Hur” (1959), “Titanic” (1997) and “Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” (2003) each received a total of 11 awards, and “West Side Story” (1961) got 10.

This year only one film is even nominated for 11 awards, Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo,” and the faux silent film “The Artist” is up for 10. Several other films are nominated for multiple Oscars, as noted below, and it’s possible that the top Oscars winner this year could be any one of them.

Which of the 6 films in the poll do you think will win the most Oscars? (Not included are "The Help" and "Midnight in Paris," with 4 nominations each. See all Oscar-nominated pictures at oscar.go.com.)

By the way, there is an outside chance that history will be tied tonight. The “Lord of the Rings” film won its 11 Oscars in all of the fields it was nominated in. Can “Hugo” match that, sweeping its nominations? Possible, but unlikely: the 11 awards for Peter Jackson’s movie were widely seen as cumulative recognition for the fantasy film trilogy.

Major awards are noted in the films’ description, other nominations are in so-called “technical” or “minor” categories.

Hard to say...wish I had seen more of them before Oscar night!

Didn't see any of them , don't really care about the Oscars or any of the "stars" from People magazine.

Interesting to revisit our pre-Oscar poll on which film would win the most. Most readers chose "The Artist" which did win 5, in most major categories including Best Picture. But "Hugo" also won 5, mainly in technical categories. So, it's a tie -- technically.
