Wilmar Volunteer Fire Dept. Annual Chicken BBQ Fundraiser

The Wilmar Volunteer Fire Department, located in the rural area just west of Petaluma, is planning its annual Chicken BBQ Fundraiser!!  The aroma of sizzling barbecued chicken will once again fill the air at the Petaluma Holy Ghost Hall located at Bodega & Eucalyptus Avenue’s on Sunday, July 22nd.  The event begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m.  Family fun is always present as the kids enjoy games, a jump house and of course a ride on the Fire Engine!  Grown-ups are also entertained by bidding on great silent auction items, partaking in 2 separate raffles and sipping on a cool adult beverage while taking in the warmth of a country summer afternoon.

Each adult dinner includes a delicious BBQ’d chicken half, chili beans, roll and salad.  Dinners can be packaged for those who can’t stay.  The raffles begin at 4 p.m. sharp and you need not be present to win!  Grand prize is a trip for 2 people, valued at $2,500!!

Wilmar Fire Department has been in existence since 1966, currently protecting approximately 1100 parcels, just west of the Petaluma city limits.  Wilmar also responds for assistance to adjoining fire jurisdictions, such as Petaluma and Rancho Adobe, along with Two Rock, San Antonio and Lakeville volunteer fire departments.  All proceeds from the fundraiser are used to help support the Wilmar Firefighters’ efforts with the purchase of tools & equipment as well as the maintenance of their fire station.  For more details, please visit the Wilmar website at:  wilmarfire.com
