Target Starts Hiring, But No Guarantee of Full-Time Work

Store opening mid-July

Target has opened a hiring office and is taking applications for cashiers, backroom stockers, floor personnel, managers and other positions, according to the new Petaluma store manager, Ricardo Blanco.

"We can't guarantee a full-time job," he said, adding that the store will have both part-time and full-time positions available.

The retail giant is scheduled to open mid-July and is looking to hire an estimated 200 people. Target will hold a job fair May 30 through June 1 at the Petaluma Sheraton and urges interested applicants to apply online prior to arrival.

Most of the jobs will be part-time, with only several full-time positions available. However, any employee that works 20 or more hours a week is eligible for medical benefits after six months, said Anne Christensen, a Target spokeswoman.

Target will hold its official grand opening July 28. Want to know more about working for Target? Stop by their job center, located at 620 E. Washington Street.
