Petaluma Company Insures one of North Bay's Best Work Environments, Survey Says

Heffernan Insurance Brokers named North Bay Business Journal's Best Places to Work.

Employees at a Petaluma business seem to hate Monday mornings slightly less than the rest of us.

That's according to a North Bay Business Journal survey that ranks Heffernan Insurance Brokers among the Best Places to Work.

The employee-owned company got plaudits for offering generous benefits, flexible scheduling, wellness and philanthropy programs, and a company culture emphasizing working hard and playing hard along with giving back to the community.

Heffernan offers insurance and financial services to businesses and individuals throughout the state. It also has offices in Portland, St. Louis and New York.

The company will be honored at a Sept. 18 reception at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek in Santa Rosa.

Heffernan's latest employee-friendly honors follows the company being named by Business Insurance Magazine the Top Mid-Sized Broker in the United States to Work For in 2009.

Heffernan has been among the Bay Area's top philanthropic contributors since 2003. In 2012 the company donated over 16 percent of its profits to charity.
