A Life Cut Short

We have lost a member of our Plaza North family.

Many of you who have visited Kmart over the years have surely run across Robert Beasley.  Sharp, witty, and authentic, he was a dedicated Kmart employee, a father, a family member, a friend - to so many people.

After a very brief (2 week) fight with Leukemia, Robert lost his life early Friday morning, surrounded by his loved ones.

I think we all take for granted the great dedication shown by people in retail.  While we are hurrying around trying to get ready for holidays, or back to school, or summer vacation, our folks in retail are working overtime to make sure you have what you need, when you need it. Robert was one of the many dedicated Kmart employees who helped take care of all of us.

Right now, there is a fundraiser going on to help cover the unexpected costs (including funeral) that came up during Robert's brief illness and passing.

The Plaza North and Kmart employees are putting together a American Cancer Society Relay for Life team in honor of Robert for the Relay this August.  We will keep you posted on how you can help at a later point.
