Lola's Caters The Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class

Did you know that Lola's Market does catering? Check out the taco bar that Lola's Market put together for the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce Leadership Lunch.

Every year the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce brings a select group of local business leaders together for a 10 month Leadership Class   Once a month they meet for a full day and explore community topics such as agriculture, education, the arts, and public safety.

October’s leadership meeting was at the Petaluma Recreation Center on North McDowell and we were asked if The Plaza North Shopping Center could provide lunch. Amy Cutler, the Plaza North Marketing Director, decided this would be the perfect time to showcase our newest merchant - Lola's Market.

Leo Ortega, the head of catering at Lola's, along with his helper Peter, showed us exactly what Lola's could do when catering an event.

Amy requested some of Lola's signature dishes with a light touch. There would be a diversity of attendees with different dietary needs.

The catering crew at Lola's put together a taco bar. The bar came with three types of tortillas - flour, gluten-free corn, and whole wheat.  Grilled chicken and meat, lard-free beans and rice. The trimmings included green salad with dressing, hot sauce, grated onions, chopped cilantro, sour cream, home made guacamole and shredded lettuce. The food was so fresh that 45 minutes before everyone walked in and served themselves, we had been in the Lola's kitchen observing the staff cook for the buffet.

Of course no meal would be complete with Lola's incredible baked goods and the members of the Leadership Class had an opportunity to try a selection of what Lola's prepares in their scratch bakery.  Lola's has five markets in Sonoma County. The Plaza North store is located at 241 North Mcdowell Blvd. Petaluma (between Kmart and Trader Joe's. Phone:: (707) 762-2112.
