Foundry Wharf Festival This Weekend

Summers in Petaluma often seem like one nonstop party.

There are festivals, farmers’ markets, concerts and other events that make Petaluma a pretty spectacular place to live.

This Saturday, the good folks of Aqus Community are putting on the Foundry Wharf Festival, an all day event filled with music, food and local vendors on the banks of the Petaluma River (at Second and H Streets to be precise.)

The festival starts at 11:30am and features a lineup of local and regional musicians such as Lauren O'Connell, Foxes in the Henhouse, The Incubators, Side O' Smokehouse and The Mighty Groove. The Rowan Brothers, whose resume includes collaborations with David Grisman, the Grateful Dead, Phil Lesh, among others, headline the festival.

As in previous years, the festival is a benefit for COTS, a Petaluma-based organization working to help the homeless through its emergency shelter program, dining hall and programs aimed at veterans and families. Like many local nonprofits offering housing assistance, COTS has seen state funding disappear following the dissolution of the California Redevelopment Agency.

The Aqus Foundry Wharf Festival will be held Saturday, June 8 starting 11:30am until 7pm. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for Aqus community members, free for children 12 and under.
