Man Arrested Following Botched Drug Sale in Safeway Parking Lot

A 30-year-old man was arrested Sunday morning on charges of robbery and conspiracy after he allegedly stole $1,200 worth of marijuana during a botched sale in the Safeway parking lot.

Petaluma Police say a Vallejo man and his father, a New Mexico resident, arranged to meet another man at 11am at the shopping center in order to buy 8 ounces of marijuana. But just before they met up with the seller, they were approached by two men who grabbed a backpack filled with drugs inside, pushed the customers and took off running toward Addison Ranch Apartments.

One of the suspects fell, but managed to toss the backpack to another man, later identified as Pierre Saucer, a 30-year-old from Marin City. Police eventually apprehended Saucer in the apartment complex and found the backpack with marijuana nearby.

Saucer would not cooperate with police about who the other suspect was and was transported to Sonoma County Jail.
