New Walgreens Proposed

The Petaluma Health Care District is joining forces with an East Bay developer to build a Walgreens across the street from Petaluma Valley Hospital, a profit sharing agreement that would generate rental income and a portion of the profits from the store for the district, the Argus Courier is reporting.

The proposed store would be 14,500 square feet and located on land already owned by the health care district. If approved by the city, the Walgreens on North McDowell and Lynch Creek Way would be the only 24-hour a day pharmacy in Petaluma.

The health care district estimates that the store could generate $200,000 to $250,000 a year, according to the story. It would also receive 40 percent of the profit the developer makes.
