Petaluma Patch's Daily Guide To Get You Going: Dec. 26

It's Boxing & Shopping Day! So Relax.

1.    Today is Boxing Day.  It is largely celebrated in other countries such as Ireland and the United Kingdom, and its actual tradition is unclear, but it appears it began to give gifts to the needy. Also wealthy landowners would give their servants the day off to visit their families so their own Christmases would go smoothly.

2. Many of you are heading out to the stores to do returns of holiday gifts that are too small, too big or just not right. Others of you are looking for Christmas items to buy at discounted prices to put away for next year — wrapping paper, ornaments and the like. And some of you just want to splurge on yourselves and buy what is left over. Have fun.

3.     If you don't feel like joining the throngs of after holiday shoppers,, head to Aqus Café for some funky Sunday afternoon jazz from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The café is at 189 H St.

4.     Deal with post holiday stress at a restorative yoga class from 2:30 to 4:45 p.m. at , 490 Second St. The class will be led by Cheryl Thomas.

5.     Or blow off some steam with some music at Bar & Grill from 7 to 9 p.m. at Theater Square at 151 Petaluma Blvd., South.
