Petaluma Patch's Daily Guide to Get You Going: Dec. 3

City of Lights Driving Tour, Renaissance Christmas music at the Arts Center kick off the holiday season.

1.  The City of Lights Driving Tour starts today. For a free map, stop by the Petaluma Visitors Center in the Historic Depot Building at 210 Lakeville St.  The map includes both residential and business winners. New this year is a green category in the business contest for use of recycled materials and energy efficient displays.

2.  Listen to medieval and renaissance vocal and instrumental music with acclaimed soprano Carol Menke and concert tenor Chris Fritzsche as well as instrumentalists with crumhorns, recorders, a renaissance bassoon, pipe, guitar and more. Renaissance Glory A Concert for the Christmas Season starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Petaluma Arts Center

3. Light up a Life with that will light lights remembering those who have passed away at a tree lighting event at Center Park at 7 p.m. Each light is paid for by a $10 donation in memory of a loved one.

4. What would you do if a white polar bear arrived at your door, offering money to your family in exchange for danger in strange lands? Experience the fairy tale play The Winter Rose by the Cinnabar Young Rep at at 2 p.m. All tickets are $10. Call 707-763-8920.

5. Petaluma Reader's Theatre presents Truman Capote's A Christmas Memory. Cost is $12 for this family event. There will also be fruitcake!
