Petaluma Resident Escapes Mobile Home Fire

Rancho Adobe & Cal-Fire units responded to a fire early Wednesday at a mobile home park in Petaluma.

All Petaluma fire units responded to a blaze that destroyed a single-wide mobile home in the Sandalwood Estates Mobile Home Park early Wednesday morning.

The resident was at home asleep at the time of the fire but was able to escape safely after he was awakened by his smoke detector.

The dispatch center was alerted of the fire around 5:10 a.m. and they were directed to Oakwood Drive.

Petaluma fire crews made a defensive fire attack to put out the fire and protect the neighboring mobile homes.

The trailer and all of the contents were completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it is believed to be accidental.
