Road Work on Highway 101 to Stop During Winter

Caltrans put in extra lanes between Rohnert Park Expressway and Petaluma Boulevard North for duration of construction; will resume road work in spring

Construction on Highway 101 between Rohnert Park Expressway and Petaluma Boulevard North has stopped until spring when the warmer temperatures will allow crews to pave lanes with rubberized asphalt, according to the Press Democrat's Road Warrior blog.

According to the blog, the rubberized asphalt application is temperature-sensitive and can only be applied in temperatures of at least 55 degrees. But because traffic is a problem along the stretch, Caltrans decided to open up extra lanes even through the work isn't finished. They plan to resume in the spring.
