With Rain on the Way, This Weekend is All About Indoor Entertainment

Two plays, rummage sales and other great events going on this Saturday and Sunday

Rain is expected both Saturday and Sunday, so hiking and other outdoor activities may be a little difficult. Instead, check out some of these indoor-friendly activities, courtesy of Petaluma Patch’s events calendar.

On Friday, take in Petaluma Readers’ Theater spring show titled “Sweet and Sour.” The performance is a compilation of stories about love and relationships written by local writers including Susan Bono, Karen Eberhardt Shelton, Armando Garcia Dávila and Nancy Long.

Who doesn’t like a bargain? On Saturday, head over to St. Vincent de Paul Church at 35 Liberty to pick up some great deals on house wares, sports equipment, toys, books, clothes and other items. All proceeds from the rummage sale benefit St. Vincent elementary and high schools. If you want to drop off a donation, you can bring items to the church until 4pm Friday.

On Saturday night, head to Cinnabar to watch "Don Giovanni," the Mozart opera that combines comedy, irony and supernatural powers with defining and magnificent music as it recounts the last day in the life of the infamous, irresistible anti-hero.

Despite his beguiling and seductive persona, the young and handsome nobleman Don Giovanni (Don Juan), is an arrogant, reprehensible and relentless womanizing cad in selfish pursuit of his conquests. When offered the chance to repent in the face of his own damnation, his unflinching defiance determines his fate.
