22nd Annual Novato 4th of July Parade

Boasting upwards of 100 entries, the volunteer-run Novato 4th of July
Parade is one of the largest in the San Francisco Bay Area and features
patriotic traditional entries plus a ton of community spirit. It's not
just for Novato residents ... visitors come from far and wide to see
this spectacle along Grant Avenue through the Old Town section of
Novato.

Parade-goers arrive early to set up their garden chairs
and listen to the sounds of People of Note band in front of Dr.
Insomniac's Coffee & Tea at the corner of Grant and Reichert. That's
the starting point of the parade, which then heads due west up Grant
all way up to 7th Street (about 7/10 of a mile).

Come watch the
pageant of classic cars, color guards, festive floats, bands, fancy
cowgirls on golden palominos and decorated basset hounds. The parade is
famous for its contingent of vintage military vehicles from the Joe
Garbarino World War II Military Vehicle Museum in San Rafael.
