Hobby Expo 2013

HobbyTown USA of Petaluma is a proud sponsor of the IPMS Santa Rosa annual Hobby Expo. HobbyTown USA provides space for other regional hobby clubs to participate in this event and provides materials for many hands-on hobby activities.

The theme of this year's Hobby Expo is “Models from the Movies,” and will include displays by local rofessional model building and effects companies including: 32Ten Studios and Fonco Creative Services.

Activities being hosted by HobbyTown USA of Petaluma include:

A model contest and local hobby club event including displays and demonstrations of the following:

• Hundreds of plastic models in the IPMS Santa Rosa contest.


• Historic displays and re-enactors of the Civil War.


• A battle bot demonstration by the North Bay Bot Builders


• Wooden ship models by the Redwood Empire Shipwrights.


• Radio controlled combat ships by the Western Warships Combat Club.


• Radio controlled battle tanks by the Bay Area Tankers


• Radio controlled boats by Sonoma County Boaters


• Radio controlled airplanes by Wine Country Flyers


• Radio controlled race cars by Redwood Empire Ground Pounders.


• Radio controlled 1/5 scale race trucks by 101 Off Road RC.


• WWII miniature gaming by North Bay Gamers Group.


• A narrow gauge HO train layout by North Coast Historical Model Railroad Society. 


• Creatures and Models display by Niddspace Productions.


• Fantasy and SciFi models by the Fantasy Modelers Club.


• Star Wars re-enactors from the 501st Garrison and Rebel Legion.
