One aim of meditation is to guide our mind into a more calm and peaceful pattern. If the mind is peaceful, there is the potential to find freedom from worries and mental discomfort, and so experience profound contentment. When our mind is not peaceful, it is very difficult to be content, even if we are in the best of conditions.
Training in meditation, our minds gradually become more peaceful, and we may experience an ever purer form on contentment. Eventually, we may be able to remain in contentment and equanimity continuously, even in the most difficult circumstances.
In this workshop, we will learn the basics of meditation and get to experience first-hand the benefits of a calm and peaceful mind. There will be two sessions - both with guided meditations, talk and time for questions, as well as a tea break. All levels of practitioners welcome.
