Pruning party & workparty at the Cavanagh Community Center Food Forest! Join Daily Acts and learn about the fruitful world of edible forest gardens, with John Valenzuela, expert horticulturist & Chairperson of the Golden Gate Chapter of CA Rare Fruit Growers! Learn winter maintenance basics as we get the Cavanagh Center Community Food Forest in tip-top shape, ready to spring into bloom. We’ll do winter maintenance, then share a community potluck & close the day covering winter pruning techniques, grafting, apple tree espaliers, & more!


What to Bring: Your questions, garden pruners, hat, water bottle, sunscreen, gloves, plate and silverware, and a potluck lunch item to share for 4-6 people

Additional items to bring if you have them: a friend, loppers, weeding tool, trowels & shovels, wheelbarrows, pitchforks/mulchforks, etc.

Parks and Recreation has a huge variety of summer camps. Kids Klub (1st-5th grade) and Camp K2Read More (6th-8th grade) are both traditional summer day camps with 1/2 day, daily and weekly options.
