In partnership
with the City of Petaluma, Daily Acts is hosting a free rain garden workshop at City Hall on November 16, 2013 from 12:00
to 4:00pm. This hands-on workshop will teach participants about water-wise
landscapes, and how to design and install a rain garden.
Serena Estes,
Enhancement Specialist and Estate Manager of Equinox Landscaping, will lead the
workshop. She brings over a decade of
experience in transforming lawns to ecological landscapes. Serena’s award winning expertise and commitment
to sustainable practices will stretch your knowledge and skills.
In 2009, 25,000
square feet of water intensive turf surrounding City Hall was transformed into
a dynamic, water-harvesting model, complete with community gardens, water
catchment, a bioswale and native and edible plants. The landscape provides both
food and habitat, while demonstrating innovative water saving techniques. If you’re eager to step up your water-saving
skills, this workshop is for you!
