Free Water-wise Workshop at Cavanagh Center

In partnership
with the City of Petaluma, Daily Acts is hosting a free water-wise workshop at Cavanagh Center on November 3, 2013
from 10:00 to 2:00pm. This hands-on workshop will teach participants about
edible & water-wise landscapes, simple plant propagation techniques, and
how to properly put your garden to sleep for the winter.

John Valenzuela,
president of the Golden Gate Chapter of Rare Fruit Growers, will lead the
workshop.  He brings a wealth of expertise,
passion, and skill to those interested in the cultivation of urban food forests.  John’s enthusiasm and depth of knowledge will
ignite experts and novices alike.

 Since 2009, the
community-powered food forest at Cavanagh Center has saved the City of Petaluma
an estimated 67,000 gallons of water per year. Once a water-thirsty lawn, the
thriving landscape now produces a bounty of food, medicine, wildlife habitat
and beauty for the local community. If you’re interested in deepening your
experience in water-wise ecological landscapes, this day is for you!
