Meditation in Everyday Life with Marcella Friel

Meditation in Everyday Life with Marcella Friel

This is the first course in the Way of Shambhala I
series. There are no pre-requisites, and the public is
cordially invited to attend.
 This course provides introductory tools
and teachings for working with meditation in everyday life. With simple
instructions and support, mindfulness meditation can become part of one’s life,
revealing our innate stability, strength and clarity.

The Way of Shambhala I is our core practice and
education program. It includes both the weekend Shambhala Training Levels I-V
and the five companion 5-week classes: “Meditation in Everyday Life” through
“Wisdom in Everyday Life.” You are encouraged to do both together, but it is
possible to do just the weekends in order, or just the classes in order. In
order to continue beyond Way of Shambhala I, however, completion of all
weekends and classes are required.

It also offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of
Enlightened Society by emphasizing the ways in which meditation can impact our
daily lives, and from there how the sanity of meditation can expand to impact
our whole society.

Meditation in Everyday Life provides continuity between
Shambhala Training Levels I and II and offers a community in which to discuss
and clarify basic sitting meditation. The class will study the principles of
meditation as presented in the books "Turning the Mind into an Ally"
and "Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior."
