Social Security Town Hall w/ Rep. Huffman

Concerned
Californians will gather at a town hall meeting with U.S. Rep. Jared
Huffman (CA-2), the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare
and California’s Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program to discuss
proposed cuts to programs critical to middle class and poor seniors. The budget
passed by the GOP led U.S. House of Representatives includes significant cuts
to Medicare and Social Security benefits, while the President’s budget also
proposes cuts to Social Security benefits through the so-called Chained CPI.
These cuts, combined with ones already being felt through sequestration
amount to a case of double jeopardy for many older Americans and their
families.
